June 25, 2012 3rd Millennium has announces the completion of a system to track laboratory animals. While most animal systems are narrowly focus on animal breeding, lineage and husbandry, our solution adds key elements of laboratory information management system (LIMS) to these basic functions. Through the system, samples and experiments are related to the animals such that the full custody of information is maintained from the animal to the results of the analyses performed on the samples and to the observations made directly on the animals. In addition, detailed genotypic information is maintained in the system allowing parent to offspring comparisons and derivation of correlations between genotypic elements and experimental phenotypes. This integration of animal tracking and LIMS concepts along with additional integration to other research and discovery systems in the client computing infrastructure provides significant efficiencies and facilitates analyses that would otherwise require lengthy manual, time consuming, and error prone processes.

December 21, 2011 3rd Millennium has announces the completion of a system to manage the program book for a global pharmaceutical company. The program book application provides means for researchers and managers across all disease areas in the company to compile, edit, and revise critical summaries of ongoing programs and projects. Automated upload of program book fragments into the corporate document repository ensures proper versioning of the information and facilitates the production of the final program book version on an annual basis. Additionally, the system enforces use of terminology consistent with enterprise wide controlled vocabulary services. The benefits of deploying to system to all disease areas in the enterprise include greatly reduced production time of the program book, a reduced number of edit-review cycles, and overall better quality and accuracy of the information.
June 13, 2011 3rd Millennium announces the successful completion of a proof of concept for the next generation Translational Medicine and Personalized Health Management Knowledge cloud. Through the coordination and management of individual and resources from more than 20 public, private, and non-profit organizations, the team for this project was able to define the foundation of a computationally tractable representations of the meaning and representation of data, and to extend semantic support to analytic and other services so that they can be discovered, understood, and securely utilized. The outstanding effort of the group produced a reference implementation of enterprise-level platform independent models addressing semantic needs, especially the need for behavioral semantics. Thus, the deliverables lays the ground work for dramatically reduced level of effort associated with creation of semantic information, in part by leveraging to the greatest extent possible automated approaches to harvest semantics information from line of business and software engineering activities.

November 1, 2010 3rd Millennium announces that it has been selected to manage the definition of a roadmap and the creation of a proof of concept for a next generation Biomedical Research, Translational Medicine and Personalized Health Management Knowledge cloud. This Knowledge Cloud will be developed with a focus on developing and deploying reference implementations of specifications developed to support Working Interoperability between stakeholders throughout the Knowledge Cloud. Development activities will be focused on utilizing a variety of standards that support and enable Working Interoperability, as well as on utilizing a number of Best Practices drawn from the collective experiences in both the commercial and open-source software engineering communities. The effort will involve the coordination of a large number of stakeholders within the government, academic and commercial research, clinical, and software development spheres.
June 1, 2010 3rd Millennium announces the completion of a roadmap for specifying and implementing a toxicology data warehouse. The goals of the roadmap were to determine the feasibility, technologies, resources, cost and timeframe for creating a unified system capable of handling all pre-clinical toxicology data at a top 15 pharmaceutical company. Toxicology data is extremely diverse with little commonality between the many types of assays used in the development and pre-clinical stages of the pipeline. Furthermore, end user enquiries and requirements vary substantially based on their roles. A successful toxicology data warehouse must be capable of answering both detailed data pull within the context of a single compound as well as broad multi-project, multi-compound queries. The roadmap determined that a single unified model was achievable for all relevant types of assays with sufficient s expressiveness to answer expected queries. Also, it identified that a service oriented architecture was most suitable to handle loading of data from both internal operational systems and contract research organizations, and provide granular security and search capabilities. Finally, the roadmap specified the staging of functionality into multiple coherent specification and implementation phases.
Highlights from 2009
September 1, 2009 3rd Millennium has announced the completion of a analysis information management system (AIMS) for loading data from heterogenous sources into a unified protein data warehouse. At the core of the AIMS is a sophisticated semantic integration engine that unifies several public and proprietary ontologies and knowledge bases. Data processed through the AIMS is semantically normalized by the integration engine prior to loading into the warehouse, ensuring consistent and unambiguous information content in the warehouse. This system was designed and implemented for a large biotechnology company and will be used to direct and monitor ongoing research programs.
May 30, 2009 3rd Millennium has announced the completion of a prototype for the iGenome™ software platform for Individual Genetic Health Assessment.
February 5, 2009 3rd Millennium has announced the completion of a large scale data collection project for a network of hospitals to gather life style and medical information from individuals. The project was performed using online survey software. By selecting a best of breed survey software package from Novi Systems, the collection of data was performed entirely using web technologies in less than 2 months. A prior data collection effort involving phone interviews had required more than 6 months with less data collected ultimately and significantly more data entry errors.

March 24, 2008 3rd Millennium has announced the completion of the reengineering of PhosphoSitePlus (www.phosphosite.org), a comprehensive resource provided by Cell Signaling Technology (CST) for information concerning protein modifications and their role in regulating cellular functions. PhosphoSitePlus enables the user to formulate sophisticated queries based on treatments, diseases, cell lines, and tissues, and result in retrieval of bulk data sets. Results of these queries can be downloaded for analysis and model-building. There are provisions for bulk queries that will allow high-throughput labs to determine whether sites from their modification site discovery programs are novel.
