3rd Millennium announces the addition of Brian Davis, Ph.D. as Senior Project Scientist

WALTHAM, MA - December 20, 2004 -- 3rd Millennium, a leading bioinformatics consulting firm, announced today that Brian Davis formerly Director of Innovation Research at Incyte, has joined the Company as Senior Project Scientist. In this position, Dr. Davis augments 3rd Millennium's scientific consulting team and will provide expertise in the areas of controlled vocabulary and ontology development. He will also participate in the implementation of bioinformatics solutions for the firm's pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients.

Dr. Davis has more than 15 years of informatics experience in the private, public, and governmental sectors. As Director of Innovation Research at Incyte, Dr. Davis was in charge of researching and developing prototypes of new information products as well as assessing potential strategic partnerships. Prior to that, as Director of Database Development at Proteome, Dr. Davis negotiated agreements with Thomson Scientific, National Center for Biotechnology Information, Mass General Hospital, and Stanford University. Dr. Davis hired, trained, and managed a group of 150 individuals that successfully initiated, developed, and delivered to the market 7 genomic products.

Dr. Davis conducted laboratory research in human and mouse transcription control and oncology, human, drosophila and yeast chromosome structure, fungal molecular genetics and metabolic control, and mitochondrial transcriptional control. Dr. Davis has many publications under his name and he has been invited as a speaker to numerous Bioinformatics conferences. Dr. Davis earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Texas and was a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Geneva.
