3rd Millennium was founded in 1994 as a generalist software development consultancy. In 1996 the company decided to focus its efforts solely on the life sciences and by 1998, 3rd Millennium was completely transformed into a practice that works exclusively on the informatics needs related to life science research and development. Since then the company has substantially expanded its existing base of life science clients, providing informatics consulting, custom software development services, and software products to a broad range of biotech and pharmaceutical companies, as well as to many academic, governmental and other research institutions.

3rd Millennium is one of the most respected informatics consultancies in the industry, having worked with dozens of leading organizations to plan, specify, design, build, and integrate informatics systems critical to their research and development programs. Through continuous refinement, the company has established a sophisticated consulting methodology optimized for this industry. This methodology enables 3rd Millennium scientists and software engineers to quickly and cost effectively reach an understanding of each client's requirements and identify the best solutions that meet their needs.

3rd Millennium experts have been featured in many industry related publications and the company has been awarded several research grants. Recently 3rd Millennium received a prestigious Small Business Innovation Research Quality Award from the Department of Defense for its pioneering work on building a Bioinformatics Platform for microarray data analysis.

The company is run by experienced life science and computer science professionals. Our professional staff consists of Ph.D. level scientists with expertise in biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, and other related fields, and of high level computer scientists and software engineers with extensive knowledge and experience in building applications for the life sciences.
